Delicious, naturally made Southern Rhone wine? I’ll take that any day! Of course that really only applies if the quality backs up the promise, and in this case it most certainly does. Currants, plum, blackberry, and black cherry entwined with savoury herbs (thyme, sage), black pepper, forest, and earth/gravel. Hints of oak (vanilla, cedar, charred wood) came through along with sweet spice, while the finish provided a pleasant mix of cured meat, cigar, and potpourri. The mouthfeel and overall freshness of the wine definitely belied the 14.0% showing on the label; the alcohol showed in the form of a peppery bite but not in terms of excess body or flab. This was already an excellent wine in my books based on the tasting experience, but knowing that it’s also an all-natural production takes it that much further! Great stuff.

Very light bright red. Medium nose, raspberry, blackberry, earth and smoked meat. Medium weight berry fruit flavours. Finish is very tannic. Nice acid as well.

No formal notes. Pretty decent CdR, if a little past its prime.

Amazing stuff. Almost Burgundian. Highly perfumed and light on its feet. This is the epitome of QPR.
