  • Superb! Very sad it was my last bottle. Elegant, graceful, with pitch perfect balance. The ripe fruit was matched with lively acidity and ample minerality. A touch of cinnamon on the nose.

  • Ripe and juicy pear on the attack. Mild and creamy citrus a la lemon cream pie on the midpalate. Both carry through to the long finish, which is joined by chalky mineral.

As delightful as the flavors are, the texture is even more special. It is so refined, filigreed like diamond dust. Magnificent.

There’s a touch of matchstick on the nose, just enough to notice but doesn’t mar the fruit and white flowers.

I am a big fan of this producer, and this wine in this vintage is hands down the finest wine I have tasted from them. In other vintages, I greatly enjoyed Genevrieres, but didn’t find it to be a big step up from the stellar Chevalieres and Grands Charrons. In this vintage it’s the star, even over those other superb wines

I would expect this to hold at this great level for a few years, maybe it improves but I’d feel greedy asking this wine tor more than the spectacular showing it is delivering today.

  • The greatest Boisson-Vadot I have ever had, and I have been fortunate to have a few dozen. Gorgeous fruit and a profound mineral spine. Chalky minerality that’s so delightful. What’s better fruit or texture? So difficult to say as they're both exquisite. This is a complete and refined wine.

A dear friend who has been drinking Burgundy two decades longer than I commented it was a “perfect Genevrieres”.

I also find it interesting that in the '10 and '12 vintages I enjoyed this wine, but didn't find it to be a huge step up from the excellent Chevalieres and Grand Charrons. In '14, this is clearly the star, and there is a considerable step up from those other excellent wines.

  • Boisson-Vadot Tasting plus X (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Zalto Burgundy
Deep golden color. Soft and round nose, floral notes, some apple must. On the palate as well very round and elegant, good balance. High, ripe acidity. Very juicy. Fine mineral core, spicy. Lacks a bit of pressure and tension to be great. Good length. 92-93
