  • Double blind. Aromas of black cherry and spice emerge from the glass. Deep ruby purple color- looks a little like a young pinot. As it sits, notes of simple, sweet grapey fruit along with black raspberry and spice. Soft tannins on the palate, with flavors of dark fruit, cherry and black raspberry; good use of wood- it's noticeable, but not distracting. Finishes with nice length. Good underlying acidity. I like this. This has qualities of a large-scaled pinot noir, and I don't think it's pinot, but I just don't know what else it could be. I guessed pinot by default, and half expected to see that whoever brought it switched bottles.
