  • Well ....bottle #3.
On nose:apples , minerals and toasted hazelnuts.
On palate: all of the above flavours plus with an added dimension of fresh baked bread lemon peel and vanilla ....with a lean elegance and a long finish of warm stones and minerals....very old world...best bottle of the 3 tasted so far...stay tuned, my wine merchant has several more bottles left!

  • The second bottle of this wine in the last two weeks.
On nose: more hints of butter and apple skin than previous bottle.
On palate : clean acidity oak roasted hazelnuts, and some apple skin with an undercurrent of buttery flavours....there appears to be faint oxidative qualities in this.....pleasant nevertheless....some bottle variation in this vintage .

  • My Birthday dinner
On nose:A promising aroma of golden apples , vanilla toasted bread and hazelnuts.
On palate:all of the above flavours present..however a tad leaner and slightly more acidic than expected.
As it warmed up over the course of the meal it softened to reveal a great balance of oak , fruit and rich toasted flavours while remaining lean and less " buttery" than some of this varietal....May put on some weight with age.
Went very well with Sea Bass, roasted potatoes and haricots very.....can age for some time, but drinks well at 8 years of age.
