  • Medium dark, relatively dark for chambolle.
Nose reticent, soft berries, little if any oak influence.
Led by fruit, red and black cherry, but with darker elements of spice supporting, perhaps oak driven. Sour cherry pip and sherbet zest, taught and youthful. Very primary at this stage, structure is reasonably refined, tannins light but what’s there is young and chalky, fine acidity. Needs more time.

  • A beautiful wine. Stacked with cassis, blue fruits, wood spice and violets, this is all about super texture and length. Clearly this wine has a decade of development in front of it, but drinking a bottle or two now, on the fruit as the Burgundians say, is certainly no crime.

  • Just received delivery and could not help but pop and pour - the first bottle consumed on CellarTracker! Had purchased these on the back of a strong barrel sample showing in March 2017 and this first bottle did not disappoint!

Dark garnet, nice viscosity. Cool, wonderfully expressive nose of dark fruits, with cherry notes predominant and a hint of violets, cola, menthol and spice. Lovely smooth mouthfeel, just a hint of very refined tannins suggest it's aging potential. Beautiful ripe fruit flavors - no hints of alcohol heat at all - just lovely ripe fruit.

Definitely infanticide to drink this now but it's a lovely, young, juicy wine at the moment. Will stick the rest in long term storage for a nice sleep.
