  • Decanted for around 2 hours. Medium deep ruby color. Nose of luxardo cherries, raspberries, some sweet baking spice/oak notes, violet, and a touch of something meaty/smoky lingering in the background. The palate is mostly driven by primary red fruit flavors at this point along with some oak. Medium+ acidity, medium tannin and body. Very smooth mouthfeel. Plenty of structure and room for further development. Will hold my second bottle for another 3-5 years easy.

  • Med ruby with a deep core.

Nose: M+ intensity ripe dark red fruits, cherry, earth/ forest floor, vanilla raspberry. maybe some chocolate.

Palate: dry, m+ acid, m smooth tannins, chewy mouthfeel. m alcohol, m+ body, m+ intensity, m+finish. Flavors of tart and ripe cherry, cherry cough medicine, raspberry, vanilla, toasted wood, slight spiciness.

Overall: Very Good, fruit is nicely concentrated and balanced by a refreshing acid and alcohol gives a nice warming and filling mouthfeel, but not too much. This can improve further in bottle-- am looking for additional tertiary complexity, it's a bit primary at the moment.
