Day one: Yo...but what is this trash!? Nose had an inkling of promise that lasted maybe 1 second before overwhelming vanilla oak comes through. Palate was an acid bath...imo beyond point of retrieval. Literally poured a glass down the drain. We'll see day two
Day two: AM, same mouth burning-ly sharp acid still present. Nose even shorter. PM - all oak on the nose with that cured meat sensation and palate was already tired. Soy sauce palate, acid gone.
Will never buy another bottle from this producer again - friends have had similar disappointments with his other parcels

Enjoyable red burg that lacks a bit of character and complexity that would make it rate higher. Liked the nose. Palate is on the darker red side with some acidity and bite to put more in the raspberry camp.

Tart acid spine, red fruits and salty tannins. Has all the right stuff, but needs time to come together and settle down. Worth a revisit after 2025. (89-92 potential)

Really big, sweet and fruity. Slightly overripe? JM says it's the character of the vineyard, with its concentrated darker fruit. There's plentiful acidity though, keeping the hedonism in check, and a delightful smokiness on the finish. Hold at least five years, as the tannin really shows itself with air.

2015 reds with Jasper Morris MW (67 Pall Mall TV): Made from purchased grapes, as are most of Leroux's Cote de Nuits wines. On the north side, near Brochon, and on the riper side of Gevrey.
