Light salmon color. The nose is pure with subtle cherry and an initial whiff of apricot that fades with air. The palate, when slightly above cellar temperature, provides watermelon and mineral upfront and a slight quinine note on the back end. At cooler temperatures, there is more fruit, with watermelon and cherry playing primary roles, but the lovely mineral backing remains. There is zippy acidity to provide some liveliness to this light-bodied wine. Overall, this wine was atypical for its mineraliness, which I loved, and it certainly came across as a lighter styled rose that paired well with a simple pasta dish of roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. I would have liked to see a touch more fruit, but if one wants a more structured rose without any gloppy fruit, this is the ticket.

After my first sip, my words were “I wish I had more of this.” Holy smokes. This is hands down one of the best rosés I’ve had out of Cali (alongside the Arnyca rosé). The acidity is so sharp out of the bottle. Love that! So many rosés are flabby and creamy. Kiwi and strawberry in the nose. Watermelon, cantaloupe, and plum skin on the finish. This is the epitome of refreshing rosé.
