  • This is a lovely cab. I'm not sure it is worth what I see it listed for on the internet! We had this for Xmas with Beef Wellington and a side by side tasting of 2008 Chateau Moulin Pey-Labrie that a guest brought from Kermit Lynch. This needed a bit of time - maybe 20-30 minutes, to settle down and open. It was lovely, but I'll drink that 2008 any day at a much nicer price point!

  • Medium-full bodied purple decadent with floral aromas: lavender, iris. Blue fruit, earth, light olive. Gorgeous wine.

  • Deep ruby. A nervy and, in the context of elite Napa wines, slightly compact wine, this is medium bodied with bright black fruit, olive, violet, oak spice and earth flavors and fine, tight tannins. Tasty and really nice with food, but perhaps not showy enough for some.

  • Epic Napa Trip - Day 2: Tasted at Bond Winery - We were fortunate to be able to try all their single vineyard cabernets side by side...what a treat! These wines took a little time to open up, but like most 2014 wines, these were very approachable even at this young age. Personally, I would hold all these wines a few years to further develop some additional nuances.

TN - This wine was the most floral of all the wines, with red and blue fruit, purple flowers and damp earth with a bit of spice and oak. On the palate, mostly red fruit with slight hints of blue fruit, some tar and hints of anise, with a little sweet toasted oak. There was plenty of fruit, but it seemed slightly lacking when compared to the other wines (younger vines, maybe?) Still, an awesome wine and easy 94 points. This wine also kept improving throughout the tasting.

  • Napa trip day 2 (Napa): Drank a good-sized glass at the winery over 1.5 hours. This was almost as tannic as the 2019 barrel sample, prickly fruit, quality is evident.
