Over oaked, hardly anything left here but that and honestly not even distinguishable as a Pinot. With a lot of air, the oak faded and we got some fruit, but why use so much oak on this anyway? If this had 5-10% of the oak it would be a pretty nice wine. Stronger tannins than expected (see: oak), spicy (see: oak), fuller bodied (see: oak). Suggest a long, long decant. All that negativity being said, the underlying material here is actually good, it is just totally obfuscated.

Fun wine to open right now. Initially some sour cherry, cranberry on nose that then evolved to forest floor, earthy notes.

Good fruit, still slightly tannic but not overly so. Would be good with fatty pork or grilled chicken or sausage.

Berries, spice, herbal notes. Flavors are tight and not distinct on the finish. It’s smooth. B/B+
