Very pretty and beautiful wine. Opened at dinner of chicken wings, steak and fries. Sensational notes of creamy red and black fruits. Mixed berry bowl, vanilla cream drizzle, milk chocolate, slight tobacco, orange peel and baking spices. Lively acidity, soft chewy tannins on long finish. Excellent bottle. Winemaker: P Melka

Napa valley Cab at its finest. Ready to drink now, but will improve for another 5-10 years I think. Apple peel, black and blue berries, oak and leather on the nose. Full bodied with great fruit, lush acidity and soft tannins. Dark chocolate, black berries, pomegranate, cooking spices on the palate with long herbal, black peppery finish. Paired perfectly with grilled American Wagyu Picanha.

I'm hesitant to rate this, because I think it needed to be decanted, and I didn't do it proper justice. Tons of fruit hidden behind a wall of tannins. Seemed a little one-dimensional and certainly very primary. I will give my next bottle a few more years in the cellar before opening.

First bottle of my stash. Tried it early based upon some of the reviews. Let it breath for 60 minutes. Stunning wine. Dark blue fruit and violet intermingled with cedar and spice notes that carried on a long taste profile by tannins that introduced minerality into the taste as it slowly faded. I can see this wine gaining 1-2 points in 3-5 years. Simply beautiful wine crafted by my favorite winemaker.

Monthly Men's Wine Dinner (The Butcher's Table, Seattle): Pop and pour. High-toned blackcurrant and herbs fill the palate in this lovely St. Helena Cab. Some more air would probably have improved the showing but it was still great. My #3 of 6 and the group's WOTN.
