  • NOT blind

This fits squarely between the syrupy unctuous type desert wines and the sweet but yet winey late harvests. I of course prefer the unctuous side of the spectrum when it gets to desert wine so that it is distinguishable from a traditional white wine yet is also not a port or sherry.

So this would be a winner for someone wanting a desert wine but not a syrup.

  • Paired with the rose geranium milk chocolate at the Wine and Chocolate tasting after our wine drive with Justin and Dan at Waterford. Bright golden yellow. Floral notes on the nose with some candied like stone fruits like apricots. Quite a bit of acidity (6/10) on the palate and not overly syrupy. Medium bodied with a similar freshness on the palate with some apples too. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2022.

Made using the Solera system and made up of 55% Muscat de Alexandre, 30% Chardonnay, 7% Chenin Blanc and 8% Viognier.
