Medium-deep yellow-green color. Extremely heady and musky nose with remarkably Gewürztraminer-like floral aromas of rosewater and jasmine, some herbal notes of wild mint, light lychee tones and a hint of grapey fruit. There's a certain Mojito-like quality to the nose due to the minty character. The wine si moderately full-bofied, rather oily and extremely musky on the palate with dry and very aromatic flavors of canned lychee, perfumed floral tones of rosewater and jamsmine, a little bit of acacia honey, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of honeydew melon. The moderately high acidity lends good freshness and sense of intensity to the wine. The finish feels like subtly grippy with a hint of tannins and very intense and aromatic aftertaste of lychee, sweet grapey fruit, some floral rosewater notes, a little bit of honeydew melon and a hint of citrus fruits.

I thought that this was a super-aromatic and extremely floral effort for a Fiano, making me wonder whether this was a Gewürztraminer rather than a Fiano at all. However, the website confirmed that even though the label says just "Fiano", this was not actually a Fiano, but instead a Fiano Minutolo, better known as just "Minutolo" - an aromatic grape variety from Puglia not related to Fiano. A wonderful, perfumed and complex effort, something not unlike a fresh and delicate yet still very heady and somewhat oily take on Gewürztraminer. Tasty stuff with good valance. Nice!
