  • A pét-nat made from organically farmed Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. Fermented spontaneously on indigenous yeasts, refermented spontaneously in bottles.

Quite hazy or slightly cloudy pale lemon yellow color. Very rich and heady nose with perfumed yet slightly skunky aromas of musky floral tones of Muscat, some ripe grapey fruit, light reductive notes of hard-boiled eggs and a sweet hint of apple jam. The wine is light-bodied, crisp and fizzy on the palate with bright and rather natty flavors of perfumed Muscat florals, pear lemonade, some rosewater, a little bit of tart green apples and a somewhat waxy and slightly leathery undertone of brett. The high acidity lends a nice, refreshing and electric feel to the wine. The finish is lively, crisp and rather wild on the palate with racy and subtly funky flavors of tart green apples, some leathery funk, a little bit of beeswax, light pear lemonade tones and a hint of floral musqué character.

All in all, this is a fun, funky and fizzy little white that's definitely nothing too serious. The nose suffers from some skunky reduction, but hopefully a year or two down in a cellar might fix the problem - although I'm not entirely convinced that this wine will survive that long, no matter how well-refrigerated it is kept... It might be quite impossible to pair a wine that's as funky and perfumed as this, but for a little fizzy refreshment that is supposed to be drunk on its own, this is a nice little effort. Nothing complex nor too serious - just fun and drinkable. Definitely not recommended for natural wine haters. Perhaps a bit pricey at 24€.
