Really good value on this red blend that they say is Rhone-inspired (Carignane, Zin, and Mourvedre) but which tastes more like a Cal-Ital blend. High toned red fruits (cranberry, pomegranate) in both the aromas and lavors. A bit of black raspberry in there, too, if you reach for it. Nice acidity, not too much tannin. PS: This wine sat on the counter without preservation and the cork in for 2 days. On the 2nd day, it had opened up, smoothed out and become velvety, and had a wonderful note of tobacco leaf wrapped all around it, that deepened into black tea notes in the finish. Yum. Now even more reasons to buy it again. But you may want to leave a bottle or two for 6-9 months and see what it's like then.
