  Easy drinking cab. Lovely perfumed cab scent, a blend of red and black currents. Medium body taste with a good tannic streak, holding well. Enough exiting for a Friday dinner with the neighbours.

  First impression was not good; off aromas and flat, but with extended decanting (6-8 hrs +) really came alive and was quite delicious! Have some more bottles to experience, will provide better notes next time.

  deep ruby, color, nose of berries, smooth, tannins, nicely balanced. Red fruit in earth flavors some leather and licorice. A nice food wine. Good but not great.

  Tasted blind in a flight of 6 Bordeaux style wines (incl a budget €11 Bordeaux). This Montelena was rated lowest. Great disappointment. Initially, just a simple mix of vanilla and cassis. Can’t believe this producer won the Judgment of Paris 1976.
  On day 3, great change. More complexity. Rising from 88 to 91p. Still not worth the money.
