Fully aged and really nice, a lush but not over ripe, spicy Zinfandel. Lighter in color, excellent acid balance with fully resolved tannins, long sandalwood finish. Moderate intensity of fruit and spices. I don’t see any reason to hold on to this wine any longer than this year it will not get better and may fade soon. A classic example of a finesse Zinfandel at 13.8% alcohol at the peak of aging. Made a lentil and sausage dish with this in mind.

Initially a touch reductive, but that dissipated over time. The occasional hint of rubber did come back now and again. I noticed orange peel, black raspberries, and a simultaneous lightness but with depth. Night 2 this was excellent as well. Continued to open up. I expect this would easily age another 3 years gaining complexity all the while.

Very garnet. Spicy strawberry jam nose. Medium bodied, rhubarb, spiced cider, dried cherries, supportive tannins, lots of acid, and a medium to long finish. Unique yet true to type. Very nice.

A very nice zin. Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium garnet color. Very nice nose of herbs, cherries, a touch of moss. Solidly medium bodied on the palate, as raspberry joins a wisp of ink in a polished and elegant texture. Finishes lightly, with delicate grip, a touch of orange peel, and near-zero tannins. Excellent at the table.

McCay New Tasting Room (Lodi): Very attractive, spicy, developed fruit, oak integrated, this is a very good Zinfandel in the old sub 14% style. Balanced and supple a lovely soft wine with power of style..
