Decanted 90+ minutes, though seemed to be aromatic fairly immediately.
Nose: mixed red and sweet berries in a clear precise form, cherry and rasp dominant, yeast, sawdust, sherry
Palate: again surprisingly pure and precise at this price point ($12 USD was it?), juicy berries lead into a mildly tart close. Blackberry appears. Earthy. The finish is mouth-coating with the grippy tannins that you'd want from a Rhone selection. Residual sugar is higher as with most inexpensive reds, but it's not overbearing per the usual.
Impressed with the QPR. No real depth but very pleasant for the low cost. Too me it's a good alternative to an inexpensive bright Beaujolais.

A no brainer. Red fruits and spices. Balanced with short to medium finish.
