Retail $32. Big Ass Bottle. This wine was made by Kevin Morrisey, who had been the winemaker at Ehlers for a decade, but then was rather unceremoniously released in 2018. Curious. What is not up for debate? This Sauvignon. Gorgeous. Even five years out, this wine is pretty close to gangbusters: great fruit, fantastic tartness, plenty of verve. This, in a nutshell, is why more Sauvignon Blanc should be made in Napa and why Kevin should be making wine somewhere.
On the nose- Big tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, guava, lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange blossom, white flowers, crushed rock minerality
On the palate- Big tropical fruits and pineapple, mango and guava, lemon and lime, grapefruit and orange blossom, white flowers and crushed rock minerality, this wine is drinking great now with several years of age on it and I don't think you need to hold onto this much longer at all

Pale straw color. Nose of tropical fruit, hints of peach and citrus zest and some crushed, powdery rock. Very nice. Similar flavors on the palate with zippy acidity, a clean and crisp finish with moderate length. This was one of the better vintages of Ehlers sauvignon blanc that I can recall in terms of balance between the fruit and acidity. Paired perfectly with halibut with a mango and avocado salsa.

Nice wine, less one-dimensional than other Napa sauv blancs I've tried, including previous Ehlers vintages. Almost a floral hint. 90+
