Sorprendente vino campano. L'aglianico dà il meglio di sé insieme a una dose di Piedirosso che lo ingentilisce. Ottimo abbinato coi fagioli all'uccelletto.

This is a white wine from the Caserta region of Falerno del Massico Bianco DOCG in Campania. The producer is Villa Matilde in Cellole Caserta. We visited this producer in September 2018. The wine is an attempt to replicate the Gran Crus from the ancient Roman Empire also called Falerno. It was found that this type of wine was made from an ancient version of Falanghina ( the well know Campania grape). “Vinum album Phalanginum”. The wine is deep yellow straw, with a medium high viscosity (13.5% abv). The nose is very seductive with notes of ripe fruits yellow peach, pineapple and white flower notes with a vanilla final thertiary note due to the aging in oak barrel. The palate shows a full body wine, unctuous with a perfectly balanced acidity and a long finish. In summary a great wine from the area, perfectly aged and a good pairing with white meats and fish dishes. PM:89
