Incredible Cabernet, with a lot of time left. Still very primary aromas of cassis, spice box, wet tobacco, plum, licorice, vanilla, toast, and an earthy, dusty aspect. Expansive and rich but well balanced on the palate, with acidity that matches the body and fruit. With time wild sage and bay leaf come out on the nose, the palate becomes more refined and the finish fills out and extends. Still a lot of oak here, we decanted and drank over 8 hours and it got better and better.

As Lundmc stated previously, there was a ton of sediment on the decanter screen. I definitely would recommend a decant before serving. Went with a two hour decant before dinner. Dark cherry and black fruit aromas emerged upon the opening of the bottle. These settled down with the first glass but re-emerged with the last. This was a very nice change. The wine is well balanced, with a nice lingering finish. Hints of anise and cacao come through with dark cherry dominanting the nose. This wine improved throughout dinner and held its own against a nice ribeye. I would wager that this wine has three to five years of life left easily.

Tons of sediment in the screen when I poured into decant. Smells of loam and oak. On the tongue oak and tannin, minerals and some straw, then come the fruits in the secondary attack. Nice long finish.
