As they told us at the winery, this is vinified as a rose, not an afterthought. And it tastes it. Juicy and sharp with watermelon, cherry, and a hint of vanillin.

Lynmar Estate (Sebastopol): A nice, refreshing start to the flight. Fairly typical Rose of Pinot; decent acidity and mid-palate all things considering. Nothing especially memorable, but still delivered some pleasurable diluted watermelon, light strawberry, and faint orange rind flavors.

This has evolved nicely. Still juicy with loads of fruit but it now has a creamy mouthfeel.
