I expected a classic heavy Ripasso, but, surprise, this wine showed, of course, concentration, combined with freshness, some cherries, ripe acidity and and friendly, not to heavy, (after)taste.

Rich ruby color. Tannic and earthy. A little too young and too tannic. Second day tasting was similar to the first. Has the potential to be a nice bottle but needs more time. Update 7/1/2018: One year later this wine is greatly improved. Tannins have mellowed out. Flavors have opened up. Upping rating to 88.

Juicy, cherry, fig, and cranberry, bright mouthwatering acidity. Nice value and a nice change of pace. Great with Italian dishes with meat sauce.

Very nice blend. Needs about 90 minutes in decanter to open up. Medium tannins. Dark fruit. Would buy again
