  • Lovely garnet color. Slow legs in my best goblet. Nose of blackberry and maybe a hint of clove.
Medium to full body. really polished and fine the way you want an aged wine to be. Did not aerate or let breathe in any way, but as I made my way through the glass, it just went from smooth to smooooth. Absolutely lovely blueberry jam/blackberry pie taste with a sense of raisins baked with cinnamon inside an apple and a very pleasant tannin finish.
I happened to drink it paired with a beef stew, but there was just enough tomato paste in it to make it a crazy combo. This would have been amazing with a seared steak and asparagus.

UPDATE: Guess what? Opened my other bottle of this on 29 Feb, 2024, and it was still amazing. What a great wine to age this well. Great pairing with kale braised in butter, pesto on buckwheat pasta.
