Attractive nose of subtle bacon, garrigue, soft blue fruit and red berries. Palate is medium body, herbs, garrigue, blueish fruit with mineral undertone. Nice acidity with supple tannins. Finish is much of the same but more emphasis on bushy-gamey notes. A hint of alcohol bitterness on the finish.
Decent wine and in terms of CdP this is just ok. Nothing to write home about. I've had CdR that were substantially better than this.
Drinking well now and probably will go another 5 years max. 88-89

Picked up this inexpensive CDP with a pack of eggs in St. Pierre et Miquelon a few years back at a grocery store! Lovely nose and beautiful dark fruit flavors, forest floor roots, brambles and barnyard. Great value!!!!

Spring 2020 Memorial (Golf, Illinois): If you are going to drink the wine of kings, you might want to add the wine of popes to the lineup as well. This is one of those less expensive CdPs that are equivalent to, or often even surpassed by, high-end Cotes du Rhone. I figured I’d try to minimize any quality issues by drinking it young (when it might still be fruity and "fresh"), but this was a mistake – it had an indistinct nose and the palate was quite tinny. Hold (or pass).

Pedestrian but shows basic CDP profile. Given price it is decent for price.

4/23/2019 - jmcmchi Likes this wine:
Pale in glass with a subtle lightly mineral and spice nose
Deceptively full-bodied
Excellent value, surprising quality for an entry level CdP
