Very concentrated with some complexity. And earthy dark fruit wine. Side by side with the first label this stood up to it and then some. Shockingly this is still not ready and needs more time. Likely best to wait until 2025 to try again. Excellent QPR

Medium bodied, it started out quite closed, showing lots of earth and cocoa notes along with some spice. With air it opened nicely revealing red fruits and a touch of herbaceousness. Not being fruit forward this wine won’t be for everyone, but I’m looking forward to watching it develop further.

92+. Inky dark purple color. Explosive bouquet of Smoke, mineral, graphite, currant. Medium to full bodied with excellent concentration, extraction, dense fruit balanced with loads of tannins. Delicious flavors of smoke, mineral, cedar, lead pencil, graphite, and dark fruits. Long tannic finish. Delicious now, the loads of tannins keep it from showing all its cards. Needs a few years of age. Likely best from 2025-2030. Excellent QPR. Cellar Selection

Château Peyrat-Fourthon, La Demoiselle d'Haut-Peyrat, Haut-Médoc, 2015: Wow, I have underestimated this wine. I really really loved the 2010, but based on it I thought the 2015 would be more evolved than it is and would be less firmly structured. However, I was wrong. Dark garnet in color, with on the nose blackberries, boysenberries, cigar box and loamy dirt. Medium to full-bodied (leaning to full,) with on the palate crunchy, juicy blackberries, black cherries, black currants, pencil shavings, rich wet dirt, roasted mushrooms, black truffle, medium acidity, fleshy, powdery tannins, with generous notes of dark chocolate, earth and tobacco on a long and mouth-filling finish. Delicious wine, drinking nicely now but will get better, the peak is ahead. 12.5% Abv. Drink now-2026, maybe longer. 91-92

Firm and well structured. Would not guess 2015 as it shows tons of acid and not much weight. Still lots of time left.
