Drunk during my trip through northern central Spain ((Valladolid) and on into Porto with a stop in Chaves at the Casino. Not a terribly exciting wine, but not a bad wine either. Well made, but not special, considering the vintage. A solid 89 points.

Decent sense of variety in place. Otherwise, quite fruity, decidedly oaky, and generally pretty bland. Concentrated and well made, even in its modern style. Otherwise, unmemorable.

Medium-bodied, with an earthy, olive and red plum character, the wine is forward, soft, polished and accessible, leaving you with an earthy cherry core of fruits. The wine was made from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Licorice, smoke and cherry liqueur scents on the nose bring you to a medium bodied, red berry, olive-oriented wine. With a quick touch of herbs to complicate matters. The wine was made from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and reached 14% alcohol.

A WTSO SPECIAL. Great nose, but limited Palate.
Color. Saturated red.
Nose. Subtle blackberry, bran, graphite, no alcohol burn. Very elegant.
Palate. Cherries, oak, simple finish. No tannins or acidity.
