  • Pitch-black, tarry appearance. Sweet, somewhat salty and very dark-toned nose with pronoucned aroma of Turkish Pepper, the Finnish salty licorice candy. Very full-bodied, chewy and concentrated on the palate with flavors of raw bell pepper, black pepper, dark chili chocolate, salty licorice, some capsicum, bready notes that remind me of autolytic Champagne and a lot of toasty character. The finish is sweet, slightly bitter and very long with quite noticeable and persistent heat from the chili and flavors of licorice, salty licorice liqueur, some toasted rye bread and a little bell pepper. The 10% alcohol stays surprisingly nicely hidden.

A very well-made and balanced chili stout with a lot of body, texture and character. Thoroughly enjoyable, but as the chili character seems to grow with every sip, this is definitely a beer only for the fans of big imperial stouts AND chilis. Great value at 7,20€ for a glass (40 or 50 cl, can't remember). Recommended.
