Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Colour: dark cherry
Nose: plum, blackcurrant, elderberry. Blackberry jam on toast. Strawberry. Raspberry syrup. Mocha, dark chocolate, sweet spice. Old oak.
Palate: blackcurrant, cassis. Elderberry. Strawberry, raspberry syrup. Sweet spice, maybe some old oak. Touch of mocha, maybe some mocha or coffee beans. Rich for a Pinot — I suspect that’s typical of Gevrey? Fresh, berry-like acidity; firm, medium grained, astringent tannins, structural. Rich, full bodied, 13% alcohol. Very young, but drinking well now. Will be amazing in ten years time.
