  • Drank this wine at the 7 year mark. Think it would have benefited from a few more years in the bottle. Definitely needs proper serving temp and decanting! Once we reached that it softened up and was enjoyable. This grenache driven wine did pair nicely with an oven baked smoked ham. Lovely violet-ruby color. Came across harsh and tannic until finally opening up after several hours decant. ( our fault). Berries and or plum with herbal notes. While it was a well made wine it wasn’t my favorite Gigondas. Again, that may be due to needing more bottle aging.
