Walnut, caramel, creme brulee, bruised apple, on the nose. Palate is well defined, elegant, underpinned by beautiful acid, lemon meringue, and long nutty sherried flavors. Lingers on your palate for a delightfully long finish.

A friend brought this on a ski trip. I was a bit skeptical when I saw the region and the color (golden orange), but was pleasantly surprised. Quite rich and voluptuous, a tad sweet (perhaps a bit of botrytis) but still nicely balanced, aging gracefully. I wouldn't necessarily want to drink two glasses, but one glass was a fun experience. I don't recall ever having tried a 24+ year old California Chardonnay before, but I wouldn't be so scared next time around.

plum-like, bruised apples, intense caramel on the nose. Lemon and cherry on the palate. Long nutty finish. Really unique experience for me.
