  • As per my previous post, it is time to drink up. The acidity is fading. The wine is still a beautiful mineral laden Sancerre, but it lacks the bite of youth. My conclusion is this wine is best enjoyed in its youth.

  • Excellent sancerre avec beaucoup de matière et un bel équilibre. Définitivement un vin d'une grande qualité. J'aurais tendance a ne pas trop attendre pour le boire considérant le niveau d'acidité relativement bas.

  • Sancerre sauvignon blanc.
I really liked the scent of orchid fruits that shows well even the temperature goes up.

  • I last tasted this vintage two years ago, and I preferred the wine two years ago to the wine I drank today. However, that could be due to bottle variation. The wine seemed to lack the intensity and acidity that I recalled from my previous tasting However, it still is a wonderful wine
There are floral notes in the nose, with a more subtle gooseberry notes on the palate and nose than a typical Sauvignon blanc. I have two more bottles left, so I will see what develops

  • Mostly delicious (more on that below). Hard to believe this is made from the same grape as those tart NZ or pineapple-tasting warm climate Sauvignon Blancs sold in most shops. There is a balance of acidity and richness that is beautiful and reminiscent of high quality cool climate Chardonnay. Overwhelmingly floral and mineral, citrus and tropical fruit relegated to the background. Long rich finish. Opened up further after a day in the fridge. That is the delicious part. Unfortunately, there was an odd rubbery, plastic-y bitterness on the finish that was subtle but very unpleasant. Never really went away with air. My partner didn't notice it and no one here has mentioned it, so this might be bottle variation; willing to buy another bottle to try again.
