  Strong nose of dark blackcurrant fruit, with notes of black pepper, pencil shavings, and violet. Palate has a hard, lean structure, with strong, woody tannins: intensely bitter, but in a good way, somehow. Concentrated blackcurrant fruit flavour is overpowered by bitter notes of charcoal, clove, and black tea, but there's also a more lifted, aromatic pepper/juniper note.
