This seems to be a wine that was picked at Kbiinett level ripeness, but then vinified to more of a Spatlese level, coming in at 8%abv, with a good degree of very well balanced sweetness. High, tongue splitting, acid and the RS give this the foundation for long term aging, but this is light and lively on the palate. The flavor profile is pretty classic Mosel; green apple, lemon, lime, tangerine, touches of tropical notes and then pronounced smoky slate notes through the medium++ finish. The Richter wines remain an absurd value.

A beautiful wine, this was incredibly refreshing, a cool mountain stream version of kabinett. Lovely nose with citrus and stonefruit, and a mouthwatering palate that was both light on its feet and concentrated; pineapple, peach and strong minerality on the medium bodied palate. Very glad I have more: drinking well now but will last many years. Outstanding, right in my wheelhouse (AP 27 17) (A-/A).

Much improved since last time I tried in 2018. The fruit has gotten more racy and less sweet relative to the acidity. It’s light and playful, with citrus, honey, peach, and some herbs.

My case is AP 27 17.
This is a nice bottle with a good nose and a good feel, but it’s holding something back for sure.
Try bottle #3 in 2024?
