  • Not bad. Smooth and round with nice dark fruit and spice. Nevertheless, this is disappointingly short-flavoured and lacking Chianti bite and character even at its relatively modest price tag (Co-op, £9.99).
Very puzzled why the Telegraph's usually reliable Victoria Moore gave this such high praise in her recent 'Wow-factor wines for under £10' article. (Moore describes it as "a consummate, mellowing Chianti Classico from one of the most underrated estates in the region. Reeks of Tuscan nobility, with the scent of rosewood mingling with that of well-worn leather, dust and cherries.")
