Per previous note: only 1 bottle of my six appeared cooked. Viewed side by side, the others appeared far less dark, even through the green glass bottle. I must've grabbed one out of the box and it happened to be cooked. This bottle fine. Deep brilliant yellow, deeper than a typical sauvignon blanc though not appearing oxidized at all. Muted nose with hay, a touch of grass, light toast. Vibrant acidity on the palate--just a few notches below a lemon squeeze--along with very faint gooseberry notes. Not a lot of fruit. Very drinkable, but likely past its prime. I can imagine that with the fruit, and a corresponding nose, this would have been an outstanding SB. As is, a very good 87. Actually paired very well with a grilled reuben--the acidity cutting nicely through the grease.

Cooked. Purchased 6 @ $7.99 per from RyeBrook wines on sale--low risk due to WA 91 rating. Very deep yellow orange with browning; not a good sign. Oxidized, sherry-like nose with hazelnut. Was really looking forward to this wine due to extreme value. 2016 sauvignon blanc can be old, but shouldn't be cooked like this one. Going to speak with store manager.
