  • EYE: strawberry red black tea. NOSE: a jaunty mash of ruby red berries, herb twigs, and broken concrete. Behind this: structural, cool licorice and cola bean. Playful, beckoning animation. I search for VA and find nothing more obtrusive than what might be found in Haut Brion, or Rayas. MOUTH: here it affirmatively leads with a sour brine juiced from ripe red berries. It's a glycerin, deeply coded with flavors of red plum, strawberry, second-flush Darjeeling tea, English ivy, and graphite. A drink is quite tart from top to bottom, with mouth-filling, almost-embarrassing fruit, along with sentient selections of black-green flavor. The base is made of rinsed stone. SUMMARY: This bottle is top rank for quality, risk, terroir, deliciousness, and originality. However, in some groups of self identified wine drinkers, it could be considered polarizing. (Are you sure you're drinking it at a good temperature?) It's irresistible.

  • Awful. Almost spat it out as my taste buds recoiled in shock. The horror!

  • Light "natural style" Loire vin de soif with plenty of acid and grip, a touch of Cab Fanc character. Gamay works better for the style, but this is still good
