Take 1: Colour fine, quite lively. Cork fine. On the nose, dusty, somewhat unfriendly and slightly vinegary. On the palate, astringent, mouth puckering tanins. The fruit just discernible, a passive passenger, an echo of a better past that I suspect never quite was. Take 2: I gave it a couple of hours to open up. A little less astringent, but on the whole, disappointing. Take 3: Next day, it’s gone, the sink beckons. Maybe just a bad bottle, and I have a few more to try some other time :-( Lesson: Entry level Bourgogne is a crapshoot that without a reliable recommendation, or a winemaker with a hard-earned reputation to uphold, seems better suited to just a glass with some cheeky bistro food. PS. the label photo is incorrect. Check the 2016 vintage cellertracker entry for the correct one.
