Eucalyptus bomb on opening. Found at my favourite bottle shop in telluride. $99 off the shelf and worth every sheckle. It's finally waking up. Had a 2012 the week prior in San Francisco. Still had legs. Rutherford dust all the way with beautiful secondary herbal notes. Should go another 5-7 years. The 2016 vintage is quite unpredictable.

Virtual tasting with Rich & Leslie Frank along with winemaker Todd Graff
The winner of the wines tasted. Definetly Rutherford dust in the nose. I mean .... wow ! This wine, .... this is from the greatest area. On the palette it is acidty however that rises to the front and dominates the mouthfeel. That said it's creaminess is what I notice. It is ready for consumption now despite what I think is rich acidity which could make this Wine better with some bottle age.
I would argue that we are drinking this on the young side and that it needs more time. Finish is just so creamy and again acidity rises above the fruit. I suspect this will be a different animal in a couple of days opened, or 3-5 years in the cellar.

It is good wine but I am going to agree, probably not worth the additional price fr the reserve.

Enjoyed as second bottle on Christmas. Very similar to regular FF. Not worth paying up for the reserve.
