Still super young -- lots of years ahead and will be better 2026+. But this is still an excellent wine! Lush and silky mouthfeel, big juicy red and black fruit the bursts forth on the palette. Just awesome.
Two hour slo-ox and 2 hour decant - still needed time in the glass to open up. A young wine. Long legs, probably glycerol, as the wine did not seem overly alcoholic despite having 14.6% ABV. When it finally opened up, it revealed floral notes with both red and dark fruit, firm tannins and strong backbone and a long, long finish. Very enjoyable to drink with baby back ribs.
Nose of crushed red and black berries, and blueberries and notes of bacon and herbs, pain Grille. Pallet of crushed berries with stone, orchard fruit that gives with its firm tannins, a serious and long finish had with lean New York, cut steak and veggies.
90 min cool (50F) decant. My Lady E says thick, rich, black raspberry. I sense hint of smoky grilled meat from a distant fire. This might sound crazy, but we both detect a hint of a cherry/menthol lozenge. It’s unique and compelling. Not offputting whatsoever. Drinking beautifully now.
