If you're budget minded, you would do well to find a better match for chicken salad or ham and cheese sandwiches. The Steelbird explodes with Chardonnay aromas and flavors. Rating is based on value and substance.

Oh, yea of little faith. Opened this bottle a week ago and put in fridge. Had tonight with sauteed shrimp, and enjoyed the identical fresh taste. You might spend thousands for a bottle of Petrus, Latour or Romanee-Conti Montrachet, but you will never experience a finer qpr (perhaps 50% the quality and flavor of the aforementioned wines), and a completely enjoyable dining experience. One of the best values ever.

Purchased the Red Loon, Sauvignon Blanc and Steelbird (unoaked) Chardonnay to try since they were on sale for $4.49 each. I wouldn't repurchase the first two, but the Steelbird was crisp, fruity and fairly complex. Check out Isopinot's review of the 2015. Even at retail, I would consider this a bargain.

Excessively sweet aroma and taste, not at all like a steel cut chard of quality. Like drinking a flat soda pop.
