  • 13,5% alcohol, 3 g/l residual sugar, 5,7 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Almost fully opaque black-red color with youthful, moderately purple hue. Surprisingly reticent - almost mute - nose with vague aromas of sweet blueberries, some liquorice, a little bit of dried aromatic herbs, light smoky oak and a touch of blackberry jam. Doesn't seem to open up in the glass. The wine feels quite predictable, simple and somewhat sweetly-fruited on the palate with flavors of ripe dark berries, some peppery spice, a little bit of blackberry marmalade and a hint of savory wood. The wine is medium in acidity with quite mellow tannins that slowly grow in grip - albeit not much. The finish is round, medium in long and quite light in flavor with vague notes of sweet blackberries, some boysenberries and a hint of herbal spice.

How one can get "inside" a wine that doesn't open up? Overall this is a very simple and subdued new world wine that offers very little of anything. Even with air the wine really doesn't give much. Uninspiring and boring, not worth the 12,99€.
