Terroir-istes International - France, South West (Rodwell House): A touch of iodine, funk, brambles and forest floor meets a sweet, powerful entry. Syrupy texture, rich, high alcohol with a warm, summer feel to it. The power of Syrah meets the viscous nature of Grenache. Low to medium acidity makes the wine have little shape in the mouth and appear floppy. Medium finish with the elements of black and red fruits and some sweet diary milk chocolate on the back-palate. Lacks freshness for me.

3rd or 4th time I have tried this wine and tonight it was something special. I knew to immediately decant because in past it took a day to open up from bottle. within 10 minutes of decanting this wine was amazing. fruit forward fruit bomb with subtle nuances, smooth, no heat and nice follow through. wow!! all this for under $8

Nose: Bacon, raspberries Taste: Tannins still a little tight, but with food, becomes pleasant. Finish: Starts tannic, ends warm and clean with lingering acidity
Conclusion: Very nice, hard to find more complex wines for under $15. Drink time: 2005- 2008* Rating: 8.5
* (I like my wines fresher than some people) For moer tastingnotes, see my wine website: http://wine.cappyg.com

Pre-Christmas Offline (Rotisserie Jules, London): Slightly purple still; sweet, jammy, some garigue. Couldn't drink a glass of this.
