Stored for more than 20 years in my cellar. After some quite disappointing bottles in the nineties this was a really strange but inspiring experience. The wine developed over three days in an opened bottle. This wine became better and better although the bottle went continously empty over three days. A 88 points-rating in the beginning and an excellent stuff on the third day (93 p.). At the beginning rather closed and lean. No sign of real decline. At the end still lively, firm, rather bold, with great length and a exotic, beautiful mature scent and flavour. Bottle variation might be crucial. I will check another bottle soon. I would recommend to open a bottle at least 24 hours ahead and decant this for 4-5 hours before drinking.
The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle.

Had some concern that the wine was past its time, but with some breathing is opened up and was marvelous. It had a nice fruit taste, as all the wines from this maker I've had do have. It may not be the greatest Chianti Classico Riserva of all time but it is a quite satisfying wine. Would drink it now if you have one.

A post Holiday dinner with coworkers (nyc): a bit volatile with some immeadiate sweet blackberry fruit, very perfumed, lovely sweet fruit notes, lots of limestone with a hint of sage and pencil lead. Lush and juicy entry conceal vibrant acidity, moderate depth of flavor with a storng earthy core, freshens up texturally though remains a bit nuetral through the mid-palate with lovely cherry pit fruit on the finish, medium length finish which continues the cherry fruit with a faint note of herb. Texturally at peak though flavors a bit washed out. Ultimately quite good but just misses being outstanding.
