  • My last bottle was almost seven months ago and this bottle showed noticeably better than the prior one. Opened an hour ahead of time and it continued to improve over the course of the next four hours. Bright red cherry, floral and mineral qualities on the nose. Medium bodied (13.5% ABV) and exceptionally well balanced and integrated. Bright, mineral accented red cherry upfront along with lighter hints of strawberry. Darkens and deepens through the backside with a nice mix of black cherry, hints of black raspberry, plum and other black fruit notes. Very fine grained tannins on the finish which are fully integrated. Lingering finish of mineral and floral notes. This was far and away the best of my four bottles and I now actually regret opening the first three bottles when I did as the wine is showing so well now. If you have them, I'd drink them within the next year as the integration and balance this wine is showing today make for quite the impressive showing.

  • 2 hour decant, I'm a avid BDM lover. That said this was a wonderful wine that met my taste. Reserved bouquet of cherry, and spice which opened more & more as the night went on. Mature black and red berries that blended perfectly with the smoothed and silky tannins. Med. body, med length in finish that left you with sweet cherry and light dry stone in the after taste. I believe it's ready and should be enjoy sooner rather than later, would be surprised if it got better than it is. Wish I had more. Cheers, Twofore

  • Cherry, iron, minerals and floral notes on the nose. Opened an hour ahead of time, but really didn't start to show well until over three hours in. Between medium and full bodied and once it had been opened for awhile, quite smooth through the middle. Red cherry and strawberry upfront with duskier and more tart notes heading into the finish. Has retained the nice balancing tannins on the finish. The first couple of glasses felt like they had a dry, dusky film overlaying the entire wine, preventing the fruit from shining. When this finally dissipated at the three hour mark was when the wine showed its best. Overall, this wine has held up better than I expected, but simply suffers in comparison to the 2004 which had more complexity and better depth.

  • Extremely dry and in need of food, of which we provided. The result was very good.

  • Nice Brunello from a 375. Nice cherry fruit on nose and palate with a hint of meat. Traditional Brunello probably at peak IMO
