Third bottle from a full case purchased at auction in 2019. Bottle No. 11397. Pristine condition. Not decanted, opened three hours in advance. At fifteen years of age, this is at that wonderful stage where primary and tertiary aromas and flavours mingle. Smoky nose, warm spices and undergrowth, red and blue fruit, flowers and earth, lovely Gevrey typicity, good depth; in keeping with the vintage it is essentially a fresh and cool wine on the palate, with papery tannins still providing good grip, masculine elegance, well-integrated oak; very good persistence on the relatively dry finish. It will be interesting to see how this develops, but I would advise against keeping it too long. Drink now - 2028.

I take back my last note. I thought the bottle was flawed upon opening and on the first night it was bad. Completely different wine on night 2. The flavors really arose from the dead give it a lot of time before giving up on it!

A private lunch with family (at home): Bottle No. 11400. Concentrated, beef stew, undergrowth and fruit, spicy oak, 2008 freshness and Gevrey sauvage, harmonious and mature but energetic and masculine, finely grained tannins still provide grip, lovely depth of flavour, excellent minerally drive and persistence. Drink now - 2028.

Agree with HPRFPH’s note. This wine felt looked and tasted over the hill. Disappointing

Tea-like color looking much older than it is. Fairly advanced too, could barely find any fruit. Medium acidity for vintage which is odd.
