  • From a great looking bottle with a bottom neck fill and all Italian descriptive writing, this wine had a deep red center and orange/tan rims. The medium intensity nose offered up mocha, black cherries, soil, and plum.

In the mouth, this wine was light and a touch angular for the first two hours or so. Then it became rich with light acidity and very light tannin. It had interesting flavors but it seemed like it might have been picked a touch late and came across as a bit stewed.

This was a fun experiment. The wine was certainly not dead but it was "long in the tooth". Drink up!
