AP 17 17 (the non-starred bottling). Wow, this juicy, ripe, lucious eiswein defies vintage expectations with a fatness more akin to some 2011 eisweine than it does other wines in this vintage. Beautifully made and phenomenally clean fruit - almost has a candied Christmas stöllen flavor - but I wish it had a bit more acidic cut to make the flavors really come into focus. But for the price this is an insane value and a great introduction to this variety. I only imagine the Eiswein* version (AP 18 17) is absolutely stunning!
