  • Nice golden color.
Bouquet and taste similar and a bit special, but what is it?

  • Nice refreshing on the terrace but nothing spectacular for a grand cru. Neutral in taste. Do not buy again

  • Medium body, bright golden color. Intense stone fruits and citrus aroma complements by ripe apples and peaches palate with nutty and mineral finish. Creamy and soft, still refreshing, complex, good balanced gentle acidity. Enjoyable as with sea food as with poultry. Serve 11º - 14º. Drink now.

  • Alcohol 13%, residual sugar 6 g/l, acidity 5,5 g/l. Tasted blind.

Quite consistent with my previous tasting notes. Feels a bit too ripe and soft for my taste - at least for a Riesling. Also the alcohol pushes a bit through. Not bad per se, but there are better Rieslings to be had at this price (16,90€).

  • Alcohol 13%, residual sugar 6 g/l, acidity 5,5 g/l. Tasted blind in VV.

Quite neutral pale green color. Very aromatic and perfumed nose, bordering almost on Gewürztraminer-ish with the aromas of rose petals, lychee and grapey notes along with more varietally typical aromas of beeswax, some lemon marmalade and hints of apple jam. The wine is full-bodied, rich and almost off-dry with quite ripe and supple flavors of red apples, quince, some juicy grapey fruit, a little bit of sweet exotic fruits and a touch of steely minerality. The wine feels only medium in acidity, which makes it come across quite easy-to-approach and mellow, but also a bit flabby for a Riesling. The finish is medium-long, soft and fruity with flavors of peach, red apples, some minerality and a hint of sweet grapey fruit.

A gentle and a bit too ripe and safe Riesling that at times almost feels like it has a dose of Gewürztraminer in the mix - the wine is just so darn floral and grapey. A safe and easy wine that drinks perhaps best on its own, not with food. Not really a Riesling of particularly memorable character, but at 16,90€ for a Grand Cru Riesling, you really don't expect that much. Although a nice effort, I'd probably pick a good non-Grand Cru at this price instead.
