  • Imperial Stout brewed with prunes, vanilla and habanero. 12,5% alcohol.

Oily, pitch-black and completely opaque appearance with very small and quite short-lived dark tan head. Sweet, tarry nose with rich aromas of chocolate milk shake, vanilla-chocolate ice cream, some sweet vanillin, a hint of prune and a touch of bell pepper. Super-concentrated, really full-bodied and very sweet on the palate with thick, oily mouthfeel and incredibly rich flavors of milk chocolate, overripe plum, some vanilla, a little bit of blueberry juice, a hint of bell pepper and a touch of heat, that could be either habanero or the high alcohol or them both. Practically nonexistent carbonation that feels only as a lazy tingle over your tongue. The finish is really long, rich and quite sweet with intense flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, some plum jam, a little bit of mocha, hints of chilies and allspice and a touch of dried dates.

This is one of the most massive imperial stouts I've had. The richness, weight and concentration here is just unimaginably massive - yet the beer doesn't feel out of balance, like Põhjala's excessively sweet Pime Öö. The vanilla here is the most obvious, but while the prunes show a little bit, I would've welcomed a bit more habanero flavor and heat here. Not much, but just a little. Whatever the case, this is still quite a bomb - in a good way. Recommended, if you like sweet and supermassive imperial stouts. Good value at 6€ for a 33 cl bottle in a bar.
